Because Interoperability is Everything
iNovex Establishes Branding Partnership
Under a new partnership, iNovex Information Systems has reached an agreement to transfer ownership of our trademarked MatOnto brand to the National Center for Ontological Research (NCOR) at SUNY Buffalo. NCOR will apply the MatOnto brand to a domain ontology they and their collaborators are developing to integrate information resources for materials science and engineering (e.g., raw measurement data, computational simulation methods, digitized handbooks, and digital libraries). The ontology provides a computer readable representation of the types of entities in the materials domain that is designed to promote interoperability through shared understanding. Interoperability makes it easier for scientists to find and exchange information for materials design, development and evaluation, and facilitates discovery of properties that emerge from inherent relationships.
iNovex has begun the process of rebranding our MatOnto data integration and ontology editing platform – the new brand is Mobi.
Although the agreement authorizes NCOR to use the MatOnto brand immediately, the full transfer is expected to be completed in March 2018 with turnover of the trademark and domain to NCOR.
